How to create multiple terrains from one heightmap via C# script?
Hello, i'm trying to create an very huge terrain "cut" into many small terrains so the recources are less. i dont want to create hundrets of terrains and thous heightmaps. rather i would like to use an script to generate "chunks" and give them their specific heightmappart.
lets say something like this: create an cluster of terrains (for example 8x8) and give them 1/8 of the heightmap. i dont know how to do this but i think something like this: (free thinking script)
for (x<8, x++){
for (y<8, y++){
create terrain as new terrain with lenght=(totallenght/8) and width=(totalwidth/8) on position=(totallength*x,totalwidth*y)
set terrain1,1.heightmap = heightmap.raw.length(0-1025px), heightmap.raw.width(0-1025px)
set terrain1,2.heightmap = heightmap.raw.length(1024-2049px), heightmap.raw.width(0-1025px) and so on
}
}
is this somehow possible? (well an 8x8 cluster could be done by hand as well, but in my case it will get something around 70x70 and i need to change the heightmap on some specific points later on and to edit this many heightmaps is just pain.. well, the data-size still aside ;D )
