Question by Gamedragon · Jul 11, 2014 at 02:28 AM · c#javascript

Moving from JS to C#, what should I know?

Hi, I'm Gamedragon I'm not very active around here but you should know that UnityAnswers has been a huge help to me in all my game development pursuits.

The question I'm asking today is that I have recently decided to move from JS to C# and I was wondering if there was anything (specifically with Unity scripting) that I should know while I make the swap.

That, in my opinion, is a good choice. :) But even just the syntactic differences between the two languages are too vast to quickly sum up in a single question like this. The best advice I can give is to follow tutorials, and then come back here and ask questions, even if it's lots of them, every time there's something specific about the language you don't understand, and Google failed to $$anonymous$$ch you.

Here's some links I found useful in converting between C# and JS. I think the first link covers a lot of what you're asking :

C# declares variables with the type. C# uses the new keyword to create a new class or struct. C# requires you to start coroutines properly.

C# is much cooler then JS
