Best way to save 2D Platformer levels?

Hi, I am developing 2D platformer game with level editor and sync with main server (for updating levels without updating app). I am currenlty using SQLite database. Is there any better, more common or easier way how to save items in levels? I have in database also for example list of levels and if level was done.
