How often is the Unity software/code style updated?

How often is the Unity software/code style updated?

I'm interested to know how often Unity is updated, and how much is usually updated at a time. I'm going through a slightly out of date Unity gaming book, and some of the buttons and type of code mentioned are different. How often do you have to brush up on Unity when it updates?

Thanks!

Unity updates very frequently based on issue fixes and new features.Besides updates unity releases patches which are for particular group of users who are suffering from particular kind of issues which others do not. Try reading release notes for every update.$$anonymous$$ethod deprecation are very less and we can find about depreciation in mono developer's intellisense while writing code. Exclusive brush up is not at all required unless you jump into a totally new concept/new feature which you haven't used from beginning of unity. Also unity provides very nice tutorials, best practices, optimisations, tips and tricks time to time. Hope this may help you at a very basic level. Nsks

If you go to https://unity3d.com/get-unity/download/archive you'll see a list of all the different versions, their release date, and the notes explaining what features were changed from the previous version.
