why is monodevelop not loading/opening unity 5.1.1f1

I had this problem where i am trying to open the sample vehicle code in unity 5.0.1f1 and it flashes the monodevelop loading screen and it is gown. I tried opening a normal c# code and it did the exact same thing then the update came so I updated it and it is doing the same thing.
