Best way to save what items have already been bought from a shop?

This isn't really a code issue, more of a hypothetical question. I have an in game shop where you buy different items with an in game currency. There are a few different types of things you can buy. Most of them are a 1 time purchase only, and so I want to lock buying another one after you already have it. So the question is, what's the best way to keep track of what items have already been bought? I've looked around on the internet for a while and tried my own method with boolean arrays for the different kinds of items, where true would be already sold and false would be the opposite, but I couldn't really find anything that worked well. I've never really set up a shop system like this before so I just thought I would ask here for ideas on how to set this up. Also keep in mind I would like it to be stored pretty simply in a basic data type (like a bool[]) so I can save it with my save system easily. Thanks!

Not exactly what I was asking. I already have a save and load system written, I just was wondering the best way to store the data about what items have already been bought that is easily accessible so I can tell if an item has been bought or not simply.
