How do I make a dynamic background color for UI text?
I have a dialogue system in my game, which displays text above characters heads. It's one single text object in the canvas that is moved to where need be and visible when active and the value of its text is changed dynamically. More often than not the text is pretty difficult to read. For now I have used text outline, but that doesn't work as well as I'd like to. I have tried other ways like a content size fitter and Text Mesh pro but that hasn't worked as I'd hoped. I did, however find one video that shows exactly what I want: Unity Text Background
Sadly it's some weird script he made on his own that he hasn't told anyone about for some reason? But as you might see in the comments I asked him for the script and he has not yet responded. So I've come here for help. If you know any way I can produce what is in that video I'll be very grateful.
