How can i fix this terrain/lighting glitch

i have point lights and particles on the flare. The ones in the middle of the image not only fail to cast a light on the terrain but the tile corners are also dark and glitchy. Im hoping this is something that can be easily fixed.

Are you using Deferred Rending or forward lighting ?
I suggest you to move your light a bit in the up direction. And look at your Quality Settings, and increase the Pixel Light Count. Look at the Documentation. You could also add Soft Particles for the flares.
unfortunately this didn't fix anything. i should also mention that the flare object is a rigidbody thats thrown by the player so im not sure how i would go about moving the light up without there being a chance that it could disappear all together if the flare lands on the wrong side.
This is strange that the Pixel Light Count didn't change anything. Is this effect only caused by the flares light or by any other light you create (eg: a simple omni light) ? Are you using Deferred Rending or Forward Lighting ?
