copying a 2d/3d plane/slab from one part of world and displaying it in another?
hello, i'm creating a medical imaging visualizer for brain pathways. basically, what i am trying to accomplish is the following: a 3d view where the user can rotate/zoom the brain (on the left), and a 2d view where the user can scroll through the 2d brain slices.
my problem is, i want to display the 3d colored pathways you see on the left, on top of my 2d images you see on the right. however, i only want to use a single slice of the 3d colored pathways in the 2d view (which would correspond to the cross-section of the pathways at that particular brain slices)
so, my idea was to just cut out a plane from my 3d view (left) and then overlay that plane cutout on the 2d view (do this for each x,y,z view). i have no idea how to do this however, or if its even possible.
my other options are much more complicated/slow, and involve setting pixels in the 2d slice textures, or somehow overlaying a camera viewport on my 2d textures (don't know if its even possible)
