Google Cloud Messaging for Android

Hello everyone, I'm looking for a way to send notifications to the device from the server. I have researched the subject but almost all answers lead to the usage of a third party software. There must be there a way to do that and have control over it on Android from Unity.

Can anyone refer me to a documentation on how to do that?
