What is the best way to integrate sound/sound effects and Narration?
Hello all!
I am currently working on a game that deals a lot with story and narration, so we have scripted monologues that play during cut-scenes, however we do have longer segments of voice acting that is happening while playing the game. During that time, we also have other sound effects and short sentences from the character as well, along with background music.
Now currently I have set up an audio mixer with everything on a separate group, so that I can control everything properly to make sure it all blends together appropriately. My question then pertains to, how I should go about playing all of the sound? Would it be a good practice when playing the narration, to keep that on a completely separate audio source so that I can control pausing and unpausing of the narration?
I guess I am just a little confused on how all the new audio works completely, like is there a way to play a longer sound with audio source "A" and then play another sound with audio source "A" then pause the first sound that was played with audio source "A"? Or would it just be better to have them separated into different audio sources on the same location?
Sorry for the long-winded question!
Thanks!
Ben
