I need help with States?
So I'm trying to develop a state system fighting game and I have no idea where to start. I have my basic animations and everything is done, and I have all the animations moving and what not. But when it comes to actually checking what state these characters are in, I'm having lots of trouble. I tried doing an animation blend tree, but that was way over my head. So can any of you guys just give me a rough run down on how this can be done! I don't really need code i'll just figure it out myself! Please and Thank You!
Could you please elaborate on what you're asking. What sort of "state" are you referring to? State within the current animation(s)? State as in the current state of the blending? State as in like health state? State like "this guy's missing an arm"?
I removed the "z-fighting" tag since that doesn't seem to have anything to do with this question.
I have a bunch of animations and I want them to be held in states. So if the character is punching it would be in the punching state, and if the character is punching then the enemy should fall or block which are also states.
