xBox 360 controller input not registered for two controllers
Hello together,
currently I have strong issues with using 2 wired xBox360 controllers.
The problematic behaviour describes as follows: When I start a build with both controllers already connected, their input is not registered unless I give input for the same axis/button on both controllers simultaneously. When I do that, the Input is registered for both controllers but only as long as I keep giving input on both devices. In order to have both controllers work as intended I have to physically unplug and replug them into my computer or start the build with no controllers attached and plug them in when the game is running. After I do that they work fine until I close and re-open the game.
This behaviour is not controller specific. I tested around 8 different orginial xbox360 wired controllers. This behaviour also occurs when using a 3rd party controller ("Afterglow Gamepad for Xbox 360"). Also I tested on multiple computers. I experience this in 2018.3.12 and 2019.1.10 (didn't test other versions). This also affects the Unity editor.
I attached a sample scene, project settings folder and a short script which you can use to reproduce this behaviour. Please create a new Unity Project (I used 2019.1.10.f1) and place the script in the assets folder, exchange the sampleScene with my sampleScene and exchange the project settings folder with my project settings folder. You may need to assign the script to the "DebugObject" and the Text components ("Text all joysticks" - "Text joystick (8)") inside the canvas to the script. After this you should be set to build and test for yourself. Please also report if you can not reproduce the described behaviour with my project settings. Has anybody experienced similar behaviour or has any thoughts on this? Every help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance, Laurin
