Question by fredpointzero · Sep 19, 2013 at 08:43 AM · importpackageautomation

Force package import with script errors

Hi,

I am automating a work process with multiple Unity projects.

For instance:

  • I have a project A with some scripts

  • I have a second project B with some scripts that relies on A

  • I have a third project C with some scripts that relies and A and B

(A => B => C)

I use maven to import from the commandline the package exported from A in project B.

The issue happens when I want to import the packages from A and B in C:

With a fresh start, the project C only contains its own scripts.

To complete it I import them from the command line: Unity.exe -batchMode -quit -projectPath Project_C_Path -importPackage Package_A_Path

But, when the import of package A finished, it tries to compile. But, the scripts of package B are not yet imported. Thus the import of the package fails.

How can I work around this and import correctly my packages ?

Same issue here.

If we try to import a package via either double clicking on a *.unity3dpackage file, or by using the command line above, we receive the following errors:

 Error while importing package: Package has unknown format
 Failed importing package

If however we import the packages from inside the Editor GUI, everything is fine. We are thinking on using a u$$anonymous$$ate action and invoking it from the command line Any other ideas?
