What are some ways to handle large projects?
I've been using Unity in a team to build what's become a relatively large project. However, when it reached about 5GB it became so inefficient just to start the editor (because it took half an hour checking for asset updates and then lags in general when it's up) I ended up having to remove most of my assets just to continue as a developer.
So.. What are the best ways to handle large projects? I've found AAA studios saying they split the project up, but I can't really comprehend how that'd work, as to my knowledge Unity doesn't have a "depends on project" system and can't fathom how to tie the projects together.
