create terrain in 2.5d

I am creating 2.5d platformer game .I needed to make terrain for this .I am new to unity but I have experienced in programming like c#/c++/c and wpf so programming will not be big problem .I have sprites for the terrain .Also it will be very helpful to me if somebody points me to good tutorial as starting point .
