Mecanim humanoid avatar root in wrong spot.
So I'm trying to test out my character model. Setting him to a humanoid seems to work fine and everything, but his hips get placed on the origin of his gameobject. This really screws up all of my other calculations which rely on the origin being the "bottom point" on the character. It makes his legs stick through the ground, and his collider just sticks up above him.
Setting him as Generic seems to work alright, but when I try to configure his structure all the bone settings revert to "None (Transform)" when I hit Apply, and I don't know if they're being preserved.
What's going on here?
