Terrain: Change color/alpha of Layer (or how to let my texture-grass wither, become dry and brown)
Hey folks,
i have a terrain with a simple green grass texture layer on it (no need for 3D grass). Now, I want my lawn to wither and become brown and dry after a time. So, just another (but brown) grass texture shall appear on predefined places. If it is far easier to archive, just all of the green texture could be substituted with a brown texture. I would prefer the withering in steps over time though. I thought of painting two layers on top of each other - a green and a brown grass layer - and simply fade out the green grass layer by and by. But I have no idea how to do this on runtime and google or the documentation didn't helped me out (or i didn't unterstood the documentation right - to be honest, i'm still quite new to Unity and game coding as a whole).
Maybe my idea is all the way wrong. So I would realy appreciate some help or new ideas. And, of course, thank you very much for reading and concern :)
Cya!
