Marking object/s in Maya to not export?
Using the FBX exporter, how do we mark an object or set of objects not to export?
There doesn't seem to be any option in the FBX exporter.
Are you asking about functions in $$anonymous$$aya? If so, this isn't the place for it...
Please don't add comments as answers, it makes it look like you've received a possible solution and others may not pay as much attention to your question. Ins$$anonymous$$d, post as a comment or edit to your original post.
I see where you're co$$anonymous$$g from but really, you've hit the crux of it, imo; it's not something that Unity can fix if it's a feature of another program. You may very well get an answer here as there are quite a few $$anonymous$$aya users but my implication was more that you'd probably get a better and more informed answer from a $$anonymous$$aya-specific forum of some sort.
Or are you asking if there's a way to export from Unity to $$anonymous$$aya selectively? If that's the case, please ignore the above...

I don't think this is a $$anonymous$$aya issue, though it is possibly a FBX issue. However, since Unity uses FBX as their only 3D export pipeline, it needs some method for its export not to include objects in source files. It is pretty much impossible to do any kind of real production without it and every other engine technology has methods for this.
The question is how within the Unity pipeline do you export assets from a source $$anonymous$$aya file excluding some objects.
