Remotely calling a class with in unity,Remotely calling a class with in unity

Hi there What I'm looking to do is to call a class with in unity from a server or another app (for example I have app with two buttons Scene1 and Scene2 and when I click scene1 button it will change another app to scene1 and vice-versa).

I was thinking of using unity www request to check a database but there is to many calls and would use a lot of data.

So what I was thinking of doing was to use push notifications but I would need it to be in the background so you don't see it.

any help would be great Thanks ,
