Unity says it's up to date (but it's only v5.1.0f3) (Mac OSX 10.8.3)

I feel there is something odd going on with unity5 on my mac.

I have tried the following:

• reinstalling unity, deleting the license file and signing into my unity account.

• deleting all entries in my mac's hosts file

• deleting all rulesets from "Little Snitch" firewall, and uninstalling it

• repairing permissions and rebooting my mac

• restarted my network modem and router

All of these didn't change anything.

What could be going on here, and how can I fix it.

I also have to sign into my unity account every time I close unity (and I've checked the "remember me" box).
