Audio gets quiet after another clip is played
Hello, I'm working on the Space Shooter project that Unity provides for learning purposes. I'm at the point where I'm supposed to add sound effects to different things like explosions and weapon fire etc. When one sound is played repeatedly ie. firing multiple shots in a row, the audio is fine. However, if an asteroid is shot, all sounds get very quite, and then slowly fade back in, until an asteroid is hit again. I don't know if this situation is specific to asteroids being shot; it just happens to be the only situation where I've seen it happen. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Check the Priority settings on the AudioSources. A higher priority means that that sound will get precedence over other sounds. Generally, it works well to make short intense sounds have a higher priority than longer drawn out sounds. Try experimenting with the priorities of the different audio sources and see if that helps the issue.
Hello @ZefanS, thanks for answering. Unfortunately that didn't seem to help anything. I believe that there is just something wonky with how my copy of Unity is handling audio. I'm probably just going to reinstall and hope that fixes it.
