Importing an fbx from Maya 2016. Textures white(default) or dont exist.
Hello people. I am new to this program but not completely a beginner. I've tried to find answer to this question everywhere here and on other website, but none could fix my problem. So, first what I figured out is that I have to convert to an fbx that is 2015. for it to work, and finally made it working, BUT, textures for materials don't appear to be working. Normal colors work but textures don't. My model (torch) should look like this:
So, first I converted all materials in Hypershade into File Textures. I even tried "to bake" everything in options from that. Then texture became completely black, but I don't think it would work with that anyways, it doesn't bake texture, only shading group, shadow etc.. At least I think so. It looks like that:
Then I exported it, and yeah, even with "Embed Media":
And yeah, then I put the fbx into the Unity:
Material for torch grip doesn't have that wood-like texture. I am trying to figure out how to fix it almost whole day. My program doesn't have all functions because of computer so I always think that it's the reason, although it's probably my mistake (Graphic card not good enough to support renderer). If someone could help me figure it out, I would be really thankful. Peace. -Peri_95

Never mind, I figured it out. You just have to edit options for "Converting to file texture" in Hypershade, at the bottom that you want texture to be a .png format not the default one (.als I think) cause Unity can't load it. Edit there also resolution to 512 X and 512 Y (highest one). And yeah, make textures and later converted textures highest quality. It changes to default every time, that's the reason. So yeah, that's it. If you didn't undestand me, feel free to ask. Peri_95
