Static 3D room model - model or prefab - which is more resource effecient?
For the menu screens/scenes I have a workshop that is a 3D model and is essentially the background. I only need one of them in the scene and it doesn't change. When I import it, it becomes a prefab, however I can change it to a non-prefab model (by deleting an unwanted bit), then I get the message this will break the prefab linkage and it'll no longer be a prefab. Which is more resource effecient? A prefab or a non-prefab (unlinked) stand alone model? Or is there little difference anyway and I shouldn't really worry about such things?
A pretty good rule of thumb is: if performance is good, don't worry.
Which means optimize when necessary, and I don't think your getting anywhere close to performance relevance with your case.
