Sorry, this link is no longer valid
Hi All,
I have a problem in a computer lab scenario when trying to log into the Unity website(and the unity software), the majority of the time users will get the message 'Sorry, this link is no longer valid' when attempting to log in(hitting the login button after entering credentials). sometimes it will allow users to log in, but most of the time it will just take them to this error page.
The url will be something like this, but the string at the end changes. https://id.unity.com/en/conversations/22895c87-30e7-4066-8a75-961511511d78001f
It doesn't seem to be an issue with out internet filtering(but could be). I was wondering if it was due to all the connections going through one internet connection.
edit
This error came up one time when trying to sign in to the Unity Software.
{
"message" : "Conversation Ip Violation",
"code" : "132.189",
"details" : [ {
"field" : "cid",
"reason" : "Conversation Ip Violation"
} ]
}
Thanks
Did you get any response offline about this or make any headway in resolving it? We are experiencing the exact same thing in our school computer lab. Thanks.

Im also having this problem and am on a macbook with no firewalls active
I added these url's to our filtering bypass list: license.unity3d.com activation.unity3d.com sl-http.unity3d.com developer.cloud.unity3d.com core.cloud.unity3d.com accounts.unity3d.com
I reregistered all devices with out Education serial numbers.
I can now get them into offline mode, by starting unity without network access.
But when the devices are online I still get the error message on some of the computers.
often closing and reopening Unity will fix it.
Doesn't seem to be a filtering issue, or all the computers would either work or not.
I'm giving up for now.
Same issue here. It is pretty crazy how long this has been going on for. Has Unity responded to anyone on the issue?
No resolution yet. I contacted the department that allocated us our Education serial numbers and they suggested emailing support@unity3d.com (which I think I did previously). I've emailed them again so will see what happens. p.s. It took me 4 attempts just to log into the unity website to post this reply :(

Those who are still facing this issue (like I did recently when I had to connect my laptop using mobile hotspot). Open the "Windows Defender Firewall with Advance Security" console. Under Inbound rule section look for all rules belongs to Unity (e.g. Unity Editor, Unity Hub). Right click on each rule and select Disable. Worked for me.

From my personal computer I cant go to the link either and i'll get the same error so this is most likely a problem with the link or it has been removed so try an alternate way if there is one to access that link.
I found another way to fix this on Windows, firstly I am not even using the Windows built-in firewall but its that which is blocking this. If my first solutoin doesn't work for you, this one should.
You need to press the start ($$anonymous$$icrosoft) button and search "Allow an app through Windows Firewall"
Then you should see two Unity softwares in the list, tick both private and public and save.
Then press the 'Allow another app' button, find your Unity editor software, select $$anonymous$$odify, tick both Public and Private and then make sure it saved your selections.
This will allow the Unity software to get to the login screen.

Hi so on one of my laptops when installing Unity (latest version as of 25th September 2017) it started showing the same error 'Sorry, this link is no longer valid' when the application opens up.
I solved the problem and know what the issue is. In my case Windows Firewall decided to block parts of the Unity software, must have been some thing it automatically did during the installation.
What I did to solve it was to download and install an older unity from 3 versions ago, then Windows popped up saying it wants to block access to Unity and it's Editor but I seleted that it's save on the public and private networks.
Then it started working. Once that happend I went and downloaded the installer for the newest Unity software and it seems to be working now.
So your solution should be to download a Unity from 3-4 versions ago, allow Unity and it's internet access in the Windows firewall and then go and install the latest version once that is working.
Nice work around. I even get this issue when trying to log into the Unity website. it may be a firewall thing, but my firewall is off on my device so it's more likely our site wide filtering.
It would be nice is there was just a domain and IP list that Unity can supply, so that we make sure all domains are allowed on our network, but I haven't been able to find anything like that.
Hi, when this bug was taking place it was also blocking parts of the unity website for me. Technically I also has my firewall off and on allow all mode. So what happened in my case and maybe your case is a 'block' rule has been added in windows firewall / defender already and you may need to try get that undone. I don't even use Windows firewall but they still screwed me over on this issue till I found the work around.
