Outdoor horror game seems too dark at day , too bright at night

I tried adjusting the lights , the ambient color and adding some cam ramp effects but it's never balanced.

Has anybody played outdoor night scenes and can you tell me tips and tricks how to improve the lighting?

It's not a city , it's more of a forest with a path. I can't send screenshots.
