Unity gets stuck on white loading screen on startup?
Splash screen comes and goes, then it shows a white window with a little blue loading bar and no text. It loads to completion then hangs.
Whats goin' on?

I've got the same problem and after a little research I came to an answear. Before anything, backup your projects. Open any folder and go to %AppData% Then, a "Roaming" folder will open. Search for Unity and delete this folder. Go up one folder (AppData) and do the same to Local/Unity and LocalLow/Unity. Hope it works.
I'm having this issue with Unity 2017.3.0f3. I've tried removing the Unity folders in Appdata and restarting, removing the project folder and recreating, uninstalling and reinstalling unity, all with no luck.
It always hangs loading com.unity.ads@2.0.3\Editor\Resources\Editor\landscape.jpg for about 5 $$anonymous$$utes, then loads and sits with a white screen. Nothing responds, cant even $$anonymous$$imise the window.
It actually worked fine last week until I tried to run the Google ARCore example project. It froze during the build process and hasn't worked since.
Thank you! This works! $$anonymous$$A$$anonymous$$E SURE TO DO THE FOLLOWING THOUGH Don't try to sign in on the project screen when you first start Unity. Ins$$anonymous$$d, open up a project (after $$anonymous$$aelcokes steps) and go to the asset store. Signing in from there worked for me. I tried signing in from the startup, but that only gave me the same problem as before, where I'd get stuck on the white loading screen with the blue bar..

The fix for me was turning off my VPN software. I tested it a few times and every time when the VPN software was running (and connected) Unity opened slow(er) and got stuck on the white screen.. (crash?) When the VPN was off, everything acted like normal.
Thank you so much. I created an account just to upvote this. The VPN (NordVPN) was 100% my issue. I think that's pretty fascinating. I think it has to do with the Ethernet adapter that NordVPN seems to setup when it's running (NordLynx). Regardless, disabling my VPN for development is seems to be the solution for now.
Same issue on Unity 2019.3, turned off NordVPN and it opened like a charm.
thank you so much guys, my problem solved with disconnecting nordVPN as well

in most cases, this is due to a very slow internet connection. or probably has some problem with you internet service provider.
