How to turn the shadow of a light on and off
Is it possible to turn the shadow on and off? It's just one light source

Thx for your answer! Turning off the shadow of the mesh is bad, since I want to have shadows. Just not from one light source!
Lucky I found another way around! I can turn the shadow intensity of the light source to zero(0)
Projector is a useful thing to know!

Untested, but this (or this) looks like what you're describing, but is a Pro-only feature. You just toggle the cast shadows property on and off.
Edit:
It looks like there's a way to fake shadows in the indie version of unity; use a Projector and the blob shadow prefab. If you end up using this, just enable or disable the projector when you need to affect things.
