Large Unity project running slow in editor
Hello everyone,
So I recently started working with a small studio remotely. They sent me a rather large Unity Project, (35 GBs zipped and about 66 GBs in total). Since it is so big, I was trying to keep it on an external. When I ran it in the Unity editor, it was extremely slow. Unplayable lag.
I tried to bring the project directly to my laptop's desktop, deal with how much space it took up, and run it directly on my Mac. It is still running unbearably slow, which is hindering me from being to do any work at a normal pace.
Any ideas as to what could be causing this, when the team that sent me the file says that it runs fine for them?
I am running on a new MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra, version 10.12.6, 3.3 GHz Intel Core i7 and Unity version 2017.1
