Cinematics in Racing Games
Greetings,
What are the best ways to make cinematics for racing games?
Imagine the player and the opponent's car should be controlled to make a cinematic,
something like NFS games race intros.
.
I currently do it by animation, I make the animation for a dummy car and replace the player car meshes with that.
I even thought of capturing car movements in a Jason file and replay that data on-demand but both methods have their own flaws.
With the animation, it's so hard to mimic the car physics and I have to create all sound effects from scratch in an audio editor software,
and the latter approach doesn't give me enough control over the car behaviour.
As it's my first experience with such a thing do you know any better way to make cinematics for racing games?
