Shader to use for background images in a 3D scene with variable lighting
I want to write a shader, which I could use to create background sprites (e.g. forests, cities) for a 3D scene.
The material should be affected by direct lighting (i.e. sun) and ambient light, but it should be shaded uniformly.
Is there anything I should consider? (e.g. distance fog + terrain interferes with cutout sprite shader)
As I'm new to shader programming, any idea on how to start would be useful.
