Unity 4 to Unity 5 project upgrade stuck at 50% (Solved)
I just installed Unity 5, (upgraded from 4) and the project updater can't get past 50%.
At the advice of some other post, I deleted every file but the /Assets and /ProjectSettings folders, but this did not help.
Any clues on how to diagnose or get around this issue? Am I missing something?
[EDIT] Ok it worked.
I had been waiting about 15-20 minutes with it hung at 50% previously. Then I just tried it again and walked away. It must have been at least half an hour. When I came back it was all done. So, yeah, just wait longer. I just didn't think it would take so long, as my project is very simple!

I would just keep trying till it works.
Mine stuck at 50% . I checked in the taskmanager and it wasnt listed in applications and in processes unity was using 0 cpu. So I killed it in processes and started all over again and it didn't freeze.
Another idea: Export everything to a package in 4 then import that to a blank project in 5
Thanks I found this out on my own, but your advice is correct, at least in my case. Just wait longer! Took approx 30 $$anonymous$$utes.
@blacksun did you mean that you just kept waiting or actually did kill the process over and over again? Because $$anonymous$$e seems to go to 0 CPU instantly after it reaches around 50%.
Often, a new, small window will appear behind the one with the progress bar, which will not be visible in the task bar, and it will wait for user input before the process continues. So drag the progress bar window to another place on the screen and click on the new window behind it.
