How do I make a progress bar in the editor lock the background?

I found out that I can simply use EditorUtility.DisplayProgressBar ( ... ); for making a progress bar appear in the foreground. But can anybody tell me how I can lock the other editors now until my progress bar finished? It seems a little pointless to have a progress bar and you can continue working in the background ...
