How to enable materials section of the inspector for FBX import in 2019.3 ?
I recently upgraded unity 5.6.0f3 to unity 2019,3 Luckily I kept the older version in a seperate folder on my Windows 10 HD. Here is the problem I am importing an fbx human mesh by dragging the fbx file into the asset folder in the unity editor. When I did this with 5.6.03f I had to go into the inspector material window for that mesh and choose legacy shaders then choose decal or bump or diffuse decal e.t.c and choose the uv image that corresponds to that model. That worked fine for me. I know I could use the newer shaders and shader lab but that previously described way was the way that made the most sense to me. Here is a screen shot of the 5.6.0f3 window.
Here is the exact same model but in 2019.3 As you will be able to see the material section of the the inspector is greyed out and will not respond to any input.
And the colors of the model are way off. I could fix it if I could go into the inspector change to legacy shader as I did in the first image but as you see the material section of the second image is greyed out and I cannot change a thing. Can someone help me or tell me what I am doing wrongly. For now I am just going to stick with 5.6.03f
Thanks in advance
