There is no way to download assets from Unity Asset Store!!!
I cannot find out a way to download and import assets from Unity Asset Store. Obviously, I tried from Unity Application (not browser). I am using Unity 4.5.

Look at your screen again. It clearly says it needs you to Upgrade Unity. Why are you using 4.5 anyways, if I might ask?
Can I upgrade to Unity latest version with the license of old one?
I may be wrong, but to my understanding, Unity does offer discounts to upgrade to the newest license if you are using an older license.
However, I would advise using the monthly subscription option ins$$anonymous$$d, as that helps to ensure that you are always able to use the most recent version of Unity, and thus have all the shiny new features.
