Unity Remote No Longer Works After Java Update
I recently made an attempt to update my JDK and JRE from 77 to the latest 91 however the installation of java failed. And I can no longer get Unity Remote working despite setting the paths to the JDK and Android SDK (which I did not tamper with).
I have tried everything I could to properly re-install the JDK and JRE however the installation always "fails" with an error code 1603. However, I always find that in the install location, a folder with with seemingly looks like all the necessary files are present.
The following are my paths to each external application Path to SDK: C:/Users//AppData/Local/Android/sdk Path to JDK: C:/Program Files/Java/jdk1.8.0_91
Steps I have taken so far (and failed to find a solution with) Disabled firewall (Comodo Firewall), disabled antivirus (malwarebytes and windows defender), checked system integrity with sfc /scannow, uninstall/reinstalling java (including my previous version of the JDK which still didn't work), uninstalling all instances of java from my computer and deleting any existing file folders and registry data using ccleaner, every step listed on the Java help page under error 1603.
I am running Windows 10 if that helps.
To be clear, my main problem is trying to get Unity Remote to work again, I could care less about Java, however my problem seemed to have stemmed from me uninstalling my version of java (v8 revision 77) in the first place as I was able to use Unity Remote earlier that same day.
