Inverted Particle Emitter
Okay, so I want to make an ellipsoid particle emitter that spawns the particles at the surface of the ellipsoid and emits them into the center, sort of like a black hole effect or something. Any known methods?

Set the ellipsoid to near the outer radius, the MinEmitterRange to the inner radius, and the Z tangent velocity to something negative. Then ensure their maxEnergy is small enough that they die before getting to the centre.
Awesome! You hit the nail on the head. That's pretty close to what I had going on, but I was using the X,Y, and Z tangents. Thanks a bunch.
There's a picture (I'm just playing with web publishing in Google Docs, seems a pretty effective way to share to this site).
Hey, I realize this question is super old but I need this exact effect. I found this question from http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/296494/how-can-i-create-a-particle-vortex-or-implosion-us.html. And I was wondering if you could explain this a little more. I don't understand how you set up the legacy particle system to get the vortex effect. Any help would be great!!
Nvm, after doing some reading I got it! Sorry for reviving a dead answer.
Hi AT$$anonymous$$Ethan!! Could you please shed me some light on this topic? I'm trying to make this vortex-like behavior for some particle effects but I've been several hours hitting a wall of bricks with my head!! Also sorry for reopening a dead uAnswer :S
