UnloadAssets / ReloadBehaviors In Profiler During Scene Change

So this started showing up as a high flyer in our profiling

Wondering if anyone can shed some light on whats going on here.

My assumption is this (and I hope I'm wrong)

  • We have a fair number assets marked as don't destroy on load

  • Scene transition triggers, GC runs and flushes out anything that was created as part of the previous scene

  • For assets that were marked DontDestroyOnLoad, copies are created

  • For those copies, reload the behaviors attached to those copies from disk.

I think the last bit here is JUST to support edit and continue in the editor?
