Switch HandRole in HTC Vive Controller

Hi guys,

I'm desperately looking for a possibility to switch the HandRole for the SteamVR controllers. We're using the HTC Vive Plugin in order to easily access the controller states via

ViveInput.GetPress(...)

But we need to assign the HandRole manually. It's not enough to check which one is left or right, we do need to define that by ourselves. Can anybody tell me how to do that?
