Imported asset with multiple different categories / tags
Is there a good way to catalogue assets in Unity that have different types of categories?
Often I'll use directories to do this, for a made up example: I'll put foreground models in a foreground folder and background models in a background folder. But I also have other categories too like maybe size. So I'd have a folder for small objects and a folder for big objects. I also have folder for red, green, blue objects.. and so on.. Multi dimensional.
But an object can't exist in 3 different folders and a nested folder structure gets messy very quickly.
What would be a good way to solve this is to be able to put multiple tags on an object, each with a list of possible values.. Eg. red, large and foreground.and be able to filter by that specific type or tag But Unity only allows one tag per object and I'm not sure it works in the browser anyway, plus you can only have tags on instanced objects, but I want this on assets. Is there a good way to do this?
