Does life have purpose?
This question may have a million different responses depending on your own religious views and the environment that you were raised. I personally am an atheist but I respect everyones opinions and beliefs. As I learn more about our immense universe and just how tiny and irrelevant we are on a cosmic level, I begin to ask myself, why are we here? If earth is just a speck of dust in a gigantic sea of endless galaxies, stars, and planets, then its irrational to think that my individual life has any meaning or purpose. The religious would argue we have a purpose, to serve our creator and rejoice in Heaven, but then what? Wouldn't eternal life in "paradise" at some point become boring? Then if I were to create a robot with artificial intelligence and give it purpose... say "do house chores". I would expect it to do its job, and I wouldn't be offended if it didn't praise me and I certainly wouldn't have a "Paradise" for it to go to after its done its job. What do you think about this example? Are we special? Does life have meaning?
