Opening XML file which determines the game
I am looking for a way to open an XML file (either be it from IN the game, like a 'load' option), or before opening the standalone of the game (making the player browse to the xml file). This XML file contains the 'gameflow' of the simulation/game I have to make (e.g. dialogs, emotions, actions, ...).
I have been searching endlessly but I am unable to find a proper way to do this, can anyone point me in the right direction?
Right now you have both multipe issues and a design/discussion qustion. We ask that design/discussion question be posted to Unity Forums. Unity Answers deals with single, specific technical questions. But even posing on the Forusm, I would advise breaking your problm apart, adding more context.
- Where do these file live: Local? Web?
- Are these files static at the time the app is published or do they change?
- Will the files be user changed?
- What platforms are you trying to publish for?
- Etc.
There are .NET classes for reading from folders and reading X$$anonymous$$L. There are also other XL$$anonymous$$ reading classes. If you search Unity Answers, you will find references.
