make one object glow
I'd like to just add a glow effect to an object. I'm trying to portray an LED. I've tried using Bloom, but that makes other objects glow (like a world space canvas) and changing the threshold so that only HDR colors glow just makes nothing glow. I've tried using a light with a halo, and that works roughly but it lights up other objects in the scene.
I feel like this should be a pretty simple thing, just to draw a glow on the screen around a specific object, but I can't find a way to do it.
When you added the light to your object, did you adjust the intensity or range values? How close to the LED object are other objects in the scene?
After dropping an object into my scene, I gave it both a light and a halo effect, then made a material and set its shader to Transparent/Diffuse and applied the material to this object. I set the range of the point light and the size of the halo effect roughly to the size of my object. I stuck another object right next to the one with the light. Setting the intensity of the point light to a fairly large value (1000), I noticed the light projecting onto the other object, but the halo did not affect the other object. Setting the range of the point light to a larger value also projected light onto the other object.
