What Privacy Policy do you use for web games?

Can someone post an example of a Privacy Policy to use for a unity facebook game?

While you can find examples all over the place on the web, I would strongly encourage you to consult with an Intellectual Property lawyer and have them draft privacy and terms of use policies specific to your needs. These documents are so important, you don't want to just wing it and post something that doesn't protect you and your customers from the random happenings on the internet.

One of the most important aspects will be the lawyer educating YOU in how the basics of IP law works and the nuances specific to your situation and how you will defend yourself when (not IF) you are challenged by somebody looking for easy money.

Don't cheap out on this.

I have my unity web game on facebook here: http://apps.facebook.com/supergun and no Request for Permission appear when someone visit the game. I also do not use google analytics on this webpage which displays the game.

In the application settings in facebook is a required field "Privacy Policy URL". Can i link to a html document that says:

Privacy Policy

I do not collect any user data from the visitors of my game Supergun.

Contact: email adress

What do you think?

sounds good but then again I'm not a lawyer

(P.S. if you are storing the variables that they set...aren't you in effect collecting user data? lol)

I wouldn't think that would cut it. Or at least, rephrase it to say, "SoAndSo Games only collects $$anonymous$$imal data required to run the services provided. No personally identifiable data is ever collected and any other data is purged from our systems upon the user's ter$$anonymous$$ation of the game session."

But, I would also recommend that you run this by an IP lawyer. Any reputable lawyer will give you a 1hr consult for free. They will charge you if you ask them to draft up a document (which might be a good idea).
