Prevent collisions on side of player
Hello,
I'm working on a platformer game using tilemaps for the environment the player is in. I have gotten left and right movement working, as well as jumping mechanics working.
The problem I am running into is that when the player jumps into a wall, they stick to the wall as long as they hold the arrow button that faces the wall (i.e if they hold the right arrow key and jump into the right wall, they stick to the wall at the point of impact until they key is released).
The tiles appear to be perfectly in line with each other, so I don't think that the player is getting caught on a rogue pixel but honestly I'm not sure.
Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: I am using a rigidbody for the player.
Rigidbody have physics option where it you can tell how player stickiness physics is. Unless you don't use rigidbody to move character then you should rework your character movemnet
But if I change the physics material, it will affect the entire player, I just need to make sure it doesn't stick on the sides.
$$anonymous$$ake a hack. Create an invisible sphere on the side with physics material (have smooth or no collide physics). So when player hit the wall, only the sphere hit the wall and bounce the player back
