Question by syaped · Mar 23, 2014 at 10:28 PM · charactermecanimhumanoidmechanim animationstop animations

Mecanim altering character posture

I have a character with big baggy sleeves. I'm planning to animate the sleeves with baked vertex animation cloth physics. However Mecanim seems to be slightly altering the posture of my character and so my sleeves don't match up with the character properly like they were in my 3d package.

Any idea why or how Mecanim is altering the posture of my character? I know it's Mecanim Humanoid mapping feature because when I use generic animations I don't get this problem.

Appreciate any help!

Pretty much what you said. Humanoid is swift in terms of porting in and out animations with ease, but it seems to alter the import and use once it rigs the character and applies the bones for animation. Perhaps try to toy with the configure of the character in the import humanoid options area to see if it helps any - I've had little success doing this.
