Animate alpha of material on UI panel
I have a world space canvas that I'm using to create a holographic interface within my level. Inside the canvas is a canvas group which contains a panel. This panel has an animation that triggers when the player walks close to it. It also has a material (the default standard shader) with an emissive texture. What I'd like to do is have the panel fade in at the beginning of the animation.
I'm able to animate the alpha of the canvas group but that doesn't work when the panel has a material.Instead of smoothly fading in, the panel just appears as soon as the alpha value goes above 0. Normally I would be able to animate the color value of the material itself but that seems to only be available on game objects with a mesh renderer. Is their anyway I can animate that property within the Animation window? Or some way I can animate it programatically at the same time my animation runs?
