How do I create a 2d game where an object goes toward the player but bounces after a collision ?
Let's say I have the player fixed permanently in the middle of the scene , Now I have 2d sprites of a ball. I want it to spawn from different locations and head towards the player but they should bounce away in the opposite direction if they touch anything but the player's head. I have a vague idea but not sure exactly, how can I achieve this ?

Basic force and physics should deal with this. What seems to be your actual issue? Its best not to ask questions if you haven't actually tried anything.
