Game Engine Comparison

Hi, I'm 15 years old and very new at this stuff. Anyways, I have interest in creating a 2d game for the both the android and iphone app market and would like to find out why the Unity 2d engine would benefit over other engines, specifically Cocs2d and Corona. Detailed answers would be much appreciated. Thanks a million! :)

This is a better question for the forum ( http://forum.unity3d.com ), as you're not going to get an authoritative answer here without extensive discussion of your needs.

Also, it should be noted that Unity is a 3D engine, not a 2D engine, as you mention in your post.

@burnumd: Although there are enough sprite and collision managers available. But in the end, it is still 3D with a constraint in one dimension.
