rigidbody2D force or velocity?
hello,
I am working on banana kong like game. I have given continuous velocity to move my player.
My question is that, to jump player, either force to the body should be given or velocity ? and why?
I know it's a very broad question but i am confused since long....

If you want accurate physics (gravity, bounce, acceleration, momentum ect) then you need to use forces. In some cases it is permissible to set initial velocity, such as for a projectile weapon.
If you are not interested in accurate physics then you can set velocity directly every frame. This is often used for player controlled elements, where instant response to input is more important then accurate physics.

This forum topic gave me clarification about velocity and addforce. It may help you too. http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/addforce-vs-addrelativeforce-vs-rigidbody-velocity.32808/
